Glad Cleaners, Inc., an eco-friendly family owned and operated business, has been providing the highest quality dry cleaning, laundry, valet and tailoring services to the Chicago area since 1939.  Since inception, Glad Cleaners has maintained its own plant on the premises.  Your garments remain with us during the entire cleaning process.

 

DRY CLEANING

We work diligently to remove stains and odors from your garments.  Our experienced pressers make sure your garments look like new.

 

SHIRT LAUNDRY

Shirts are laundered and pressed by our staff of experts ensuring all buttons are intact, colors are bright, and whites are whiter.

 

WASH & FOLD (LAUNDRY, BED SHEETS & TOWELS)

Doing laundry at home can be a chore and take days to complete.  Drop off your unsorted, soiled laundry and bed sheets with us and pick it up clean and folded, ready to put away. $2.25 lb. (10lb minimum)

 

FINE LINENS & TABLECLOTHS 

Blankets and comforters too large to fit into your machine at home, we have the solution to that.  Tablecloths, table skirts and napkins are cleaned and pressed, ready for any occasion.

PILLOW CLEANING/RESTORATION

Is your favorite pillow in need of a deep cleaning or restoration to make it feel and smell like new again?  Each pillow is processed individually to ensure you receive your down, feathers or filler back.  This process costs about half of what you would pay for a replacement pillow. The process starts with removing the old down, feathers or other fillers.  Next the old ticking is discarded and the old down, feathers and fillers are cleaned utilizing ozone and ultra-violet light to remove any odors and sanitize your pillow.  Lastly, your down, feathers or fillers are blown into a brand new, white-on-white ticking.  If additional down, feathers or fillers are needed they can be added at this time.  Your old pillow will look new again!   

 

LEATHER & FURS CLEANING & REPAIR

Leather and suede coats, purses, boots, and gloves are cleaned by professionals and returned to you ready to wear.  Glad Cleaners also provides shoe, luggage, belts, leathers and fur repair services.  Just simply drop off at 6412 N. Central Avenue, Chicago, IL 60646 and we will take care of sending out your items for repair or cleaning.   

 

EXPERT TAILORING & ALTERATIONS

Expert on-site tailoring services are available by appointment only.  Please call 773-631-1800 to make an appointment. 

ORIENTAL & AREA RUGS

If your oriental or area rugs need a deep cleaning, simply roll them up and drop them off at our store at 6412 N. Central Avenue, Chicago, IL 60646.  Depending on size, some rugs are cleaned in house and larger sizes need to be sent out for processing.  Rugs larger than 10’ x 12’ can be cleaned on site at your home or business, please contact us for further information at 773-631-1800 or at gladcleaners@sbcglobal.net.

 

DRAPERIES & VALANCES

Cleaning your drapes and valances yearly will keep them looking like new and will also extend their useful life.  Simply remove the window treatments and bring them in or call us at 773-631-1800 for more information on removal and hanging services. 

 

FUR CLEANING & STORAGE

Seasonal storage of furs is available as well as cleaning services.

BRIDAL & VINTAGE ITEMS

Your special day might be over, but you can feel confident that Glad Cleaners will give your dress the special attention it deserves.  Every dress is inspected by one of our professionals and all stains are carefully removed.  Any repairs needed will be brought to your attention.  Dresses can be cleaned and hung ready for wear or boxed and preserved to help slow down the material aging process.

 

SHOE, PURSE, LUGGAGE REPAIR & CLEANING

We partner with a local repair service to save you time.  Drop off items in need of repair and we will take care of the rest.  Pick up your shoes, boots, purses, luggage, belts. etc. from our location repaired and ready to wear and use. 

 

HANGER RECYCLING

We offer a hanger recycling program. 

 

Same day service for dry cleaning and laundry garments as long as garments are received by 10AM.
